I’ve been a journalist for over 20 years on local, business and national titles.
Before going freelance I was Westminster correspondent for The Sunday Post, one of Scotland’s biggest Sunday titles where I covered a general election, Scottish election, independence referendum and EU referendum.
These days my work features in a range of publications including The New Statesman, Total Politics, The Times, The House magazine and the International Business Times.
I’m also a regular on TV and radio offering insights and views on politics.
I also have my own podcast featuring interviews with MPs. And for the last 12 months I’ve been making the Brexit Breakdown podcast for The UK in a Changing Europe think tank.
I’ve a keen interest in gender issues and I have written on the topic in a number of publications including The Mirror, HuffPost and The Telegraph. Last summer my first book, which I co-wrote with my partner, The Gender Agenda was published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. And in 2018 my second book Dads Don’t Babysit was published by Ortus Press.
